Once the Jamborette was over, the Scouts each went home
with a Scottish Scout for three days of home visitation.
Pete also chose home visitation, while Jerry and I rented a car
and drove west from Blair Atholl to the Isle of Mull, then back to meet the group
in Edinburgh for the flight home. Here are a selection of pictures from
our after-Jamborette touring.

Ardverikie House - or maybe you remember it as Glenbogle House from Monarch
of the Glen?

Loch Laggan
After the Jamborette, we stayed one night at the Rumblie B&B in
Laggan, the village which stood in for Glenbogle in Monarch

Tobermory, capital of the Isle of Mull
The ferry lets out right on this waterfront road. We stayed at the
Tobermory Hotel, the tan building on the harbor, just left of center. It
was the perfect base to spend a day walking around Tobermory and the
area.

Tobermory Light with CalMac ferry MV Clansman
The light is a relatively short and easy walk from Tobermory
village. At least, that's what the guidebook says. It was probably about
two and a half miles, but well worth the time.

The Falkirk Wheel
The wheel's a marvel of engineering, built in 2000 to link the Union
Canal and Forth and Clyde Canal, replacing a chain of 11 locks which had
been dismantled in the 1930's. Boats float into a kind of bathtub on
wheels at the end of each arm, and the wheel rotates to lift the boats
115 feet.
