Campfires and Ceremonies - Opening and Saturday Campfires

Opening Ceremony

After the International Scouts arrived and got acquainted with their Scottish counterparts, they were all gathered in front of the camp gateway for the opening ceremony.

The Subcamps gave their cheers for the first time.

Camp Chief Colin Peters declares the Jamborette open.

The Vale of Atholl Pipe Band performed.

The flags of all of the countries present marched onto the field.

The opening ended with each of the subcamp leaders lighting a torch to take back to their subcamp to start their own campfires.

Saturday Night Campfire

On Saturday night, after the Country Fair and tea (dinner), the entire camp - the 800 Scouts from the Jamborette and the Satellite Campers, as well as the staff and lots of visitors - attended a campfire on the Campfire Slope between the camp and Blair Castle.

What color is Simon Lamb's Spork? It's orange, of course, and it's great...
