The 2024 Blair Atholl Scottish International Patrol Jamborette
|
![]() ![]() |
There will be about 75 patrols at this unique event. Each patrol will be
made up of one-half Scottish Scouts, and one-half from an international
contingent from one of up to 20 different countries.
The Baden-Powell Council hopes to send two patrols—12 Boy Scouts or male Venturers - to Blair Atholl. To be eligible, you must be at least 14 years old as of July 16, 2024, but not yet 18 as of July 25, 2024. We will be flying to Scotland around July 8th, and will spend a week touring around Scotland (or maybe we’ll spend a few days in England or Wales, first - it’s up to you!). Along the way we could be visiting castles, walking the highlands, islands, glens and shores, visiting museums and battlefields, maybe attend a Highland Games—you’ll help plan the trip. During the ten days of the Jamborette, you can go hiking or biking in the Highlands, sailing or canoeing on Loch Rannoch, do pioneering or cooking or crafts or other traditional Scouting stuff, go mountain boarding or try fencing. Patrols can spend a half-day in Blair Atholl or Pitlochry, take a tour of Blair Castle, watch the sun rise over Atholl from the top of a hill, or get really muddy at the exciting (and weird) Atholl Experience. There will be evening campfires and shows, a Country Fair and a giant camp-wide game called the “Athollantics”. After the Jamborette, depending on how the air fare works out, we might spend another couple of days in Scotland before we fly home. The cost of the trip will be around $2,600, including everything for the three weeks —the exact fee will depend on air fare and exchange rate. Camperships may be available. We're starting to take names for the contingent. If you're in the Baden-Powell Council, download an application form in MSWord or PDF format and send it to Scotland@TCScouts.org to get your name on the list! If you're not in the Baden-Powell Council, maybe you can start a contingent from your council - you should contact the Jamborette at the address below, and if there's anything we can do, we'll be happy to help.
